NETWORKslop

Personal project · 2026 · Made with AI
The player's home in Packet Town, with the HUD and current goal
Problem

Networking is mostly learned from diagrams and theory, while troubleshooting a network that's actually broken is a different skill and hard to practise safely.

Outcome

A playable first milestone. You explore Packet Town, take missions from NPCs, diagnose faults with Linux and Cisco-style commands, fix the root cause and verify the fix. Everything runs simulated in the browser.

Approach

Built with Vite, React 19, TypeScript and Phaser 3, working together with AI coding assistants. The network (IPv4 math, ARP, routing, NAT, DHCP, DNS) is a pure TypeScript simulation, and missions are scored on the resulting network state instead of on which commands you typed.
